COURSE DESCRIPTION

Critical Thinking with Coding Level 1 introduces programming concepts including commands, sequences, loops, and events to young children age 4 to 8. The course is designed for children learning together with their parents. Students learn basic coding concepts by solving coding puzzle practices and create animations, stories, and games using visual block-based coding environment. Child development activities focusing on spatial relationships, geometry, and logical thinking skills are integrated.

COURSE FORMAT

The course consists of semi-private lessons delivered online via Zoom. Participants need access to working computers with high-speed internet. Students also need access to a printer to prepare course materials. Detailed instructions are provided for participation in the course.

Genta is an instructional designer and a technology instructor. He holds an MEd in Learning Design and Technologies and an MS in Information and Computer Sciences from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. His career as a software engineer spans over 15 years with a specialization in educational technology. Given his strong background in both education and technology, he is highly passionated to foster future technology professionals. He oversees the course design and development of THINKOLOGY’s programs and provides instructional and technical assistance to teachers.
